Thinking Careers: Take Our Kids to Work

Take Our Kids to Work Day is on Wednesday November 6th for all grade 9 students!

Preparation for lifelong learning and the world of work is an important part of this day and in fact is part of our health program in all grades.  One of the goals of our health class is to ensure that students are taught attitudes and behaviors to be successful at work when they leave school.  These attitudes are as important in grade 7 as they are when schooling is complete.

We encourage you to find out how your child is learning these skills in health.  November 21st is the EIPS Your Future: Post Secondary and Career Fair at the community center.  This event allows students to discover opportunities beyond high school.

Later this year Sherwood Heights will be hosting a career day, were students will have the opportunity to meet and learn about a wide variety of career choices from our parents and community partners.  Stay tuned for how you can get involved.
