Grade Nine Farewell Celebration & Reception

The Farewell Ceremony will be held at the Sherwood Park Alliance Church (1011 Clover Bar Road) on Friday, June 7 beginning at 5:00 p.m.  The doors to the sanctuary will open at 4:30 p.m. and there will be opportunities for families to take photographs before and after the ceremony. By holding the ceremony at Sherwood Park Alliance Church, students are not limited in the number of guests they choose to invite.

The ceremony will include short speeches from students, staff, and invited guests.  There will also be a presentation of completion certificate to each student, a video of all students as well as musical performances by students.

Following the Ceremony:

A Farewell Reception will be held for grade 9 Sherwood Heights students only at Sherwood Heights Junior High School – 241 Fir Street. The event will be held from 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. During the reception, the students will enjoy a DJ dance, photo booth, pizza, pop & water.

Please RSVP for your child by May 25th for the reception here

Students who do not RSVP, will not be admitted. Entry to the event will be closed at 7:30 p.m. and there are no in-and-out privileges. Please note that this is still a school sanctioned event and as such, all school rules still apply.

Although we do not have a specific dress code for the celebration, students are encouraged to dress for a semi-formal junior high event.  We discourage students and families from purchasing expensive attire or accessories.

We like our ceremony to be as student-centered as possible.  Students have been asked to sign up to volunteer for various roles (masters of ceremony, singing of anthem, musical performances) and will be contacted next week with dates and times for their auditions.

Please feel free to contact the office at 780-467-5930 should you have any questions about the events.
