Grade 7 Open Classroom Day

Grade 7 Open Classroom Day

October 10, 2019

Good afternoon Grade 7 parents!

We’ve had a fantastic start to the new year, and our newest Cougars are already becoming a welcome part of the Sherwood Heights family!  Now that that the dust has settled, we’d like to extend a special invitation to spend some time in our school to see some of the fantastic things that are happening in your child’s classes.

On October 10th, we are hosting an Open Classroom Day from Blocks 3 to 7 where you can drop in on your child’s class and see them in their “school habitat!”

If you would like to join us on that day, please visit the google form to select the block that you would like to attend.  This is a DAY 4 in our schedule, so please review your child’s schedule in order to choose which class you would like to visit.  You can access the google form here.

When you arrive at the school, please check into the office to sign in, where you will be met by a student leader to escort you to the classroom.

As a special event, our Core Plus Math Challenge and Numeracy Booster classes will be displaying their spatial awareness, visualization and problem solving with a large string art project in the field to the east of the school.  You can watch the building of these projects during Block 4 (11:18 – 12:09) or do a “gallery walk” during lunch or reading block (1:00 – 1:20).

Just a note that it is PJ Day that day as part of our Read In Week activities, so please feel free to wear your onesie!

If you have any questions about the day, please email me at  Hope to see you there!
