30 Years of the Cougar Mile!

Calling all Sherwood Heights parents, community members, and alumni!

The Cougar Mile is an annual tradition that students and staff have participated in since 1989 – and to celebrate the 30th anniversary of this event (and the 60th anniversary of the school!) we are inviting all families, alumni, and community members to participate!

The festivities will begin at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 12, with our Grade 7 races, then over the lunch period there will be food trucks like the Purple Perogy, Roka Wood Fired Pizza and Sugar Burger to name a few!  Our grade 8 and 9 races will continue in the afternoon, and we will cap it all off with our Meet the Teacher event.

Extended family, friends, neighbors, alumni are all welcome to come run or walk with us, enjoy the food, prizes and carnival games and celebrate the beginning of our 60th year as a school.  Race schedule and food truck menus & prices coming soon!

If you have any questions, please contact our Cougar Mile Coordinator – Assistant Principal Kris Reid at 780-467-5930 or

See you at the Mile on Thursday, September 12!

Paul Pallister - Principal
