Mrs. Sherri Johnston
Assistant Principal
What are you currently learning?
How to create more inclusive learning environments.
What book are you reading right now?
The White Darkness by David Grann - a book about 3 descendents from Ernest Shackleton's crew set out to recreate the treacherous trip across Antarctica in 2008 and one fellow returned to do a solo trek in 2015. I love a good adventure with rich character development.
What is one of your favorite words in the acronym PRIDE - and why is it important to you?
Perseverance - I believe this quality leads to greater success in life. A willingness to dig in when things get hard; to not quit; to find another way; to believe in ourselves; to make course corrections and learn from mistakes; and to have faith that hard work pays off. Skills I learned in one job, whether I was excited about it or not, often proved invaluable in my next job.
What School Goal most resonates with you?
Developing literacy and numeracy skills - my goal is to enhance literacy in my class and across the school. I am a passionate reader. I personally read 4-5 books a month and typically 30 or more in the summer.
