Sherwood Heights Open House

March 17th @ 7:00 p.m.

Welcome to all future students of Sherwood Heights. We are looking forward to meeting you and your parents on Wednesday March 17. Our open house is designed to share with you what to expect in Junior High. Please arrive a little early as our opening session about life at Heights will begin promptly at 7:00pm. Sessions will be available to students and parents in which we will discuss: our Academic Excellence program, French Immersion, LOGOS and Transitions. In addition, teachers will have many classrooms open to demonstrate activities that typically happen in school. A number of our option courses will also have special displays and presentations. Please take a moment to stop by and say hello.

More information will be coming soon on our 2010/2011 school registration.  Please note the changes EIPS have made to the Boundary Exemption Process (see the article below). 

2010/2011 School Registration 

Registration for the new school year will begin in March. 

• Current grade six students will be completing their grade seven registration packages in their classrooms at their current Elementary School
• Grade sevens and eights will complete their registration forms in  their homeroom class.  A completed course registration form will be sent home with your child to be signed by a parent/guardian and returned to  your child's homeroom teacher. 
• Grade nines will complete their High School Registration Forms at Sherwood Heights, a completed course registration form will be sent home with your child to be signed by a parent/guardian and returned to Sherwood Heights (Mrs.Buckley).
• Students wishing a school of choice must ensure that they have their Boundary Exemption Form  to the boundary school by March 15th.   

New Boundary Exemption Process and Form

EIPS recently made changes to the boundary exemption process. If you are considering a school of choice for the 2010/2011 school year, please complete and submit the new Boundary Exemption/ Request to Change Schools by March 15, 2010 to your designated school and by April 15, 2010 to your school of choice.

The Quebec trip departure date of Monday, April 19 is fast approaching. Our final organizational meeting is Wednesday, April 7th @ 6:30pm in the library. It is critical for both parents and students to attend. The final payment is due March 8. Cheques should be made out to World Class Tours and can be given to Mr. Samaratunga.
